Women dead after jumping from high-rise

A women is dead this morning after jumping from a high-rise building, according to officials.

Chicago Police received a 911 call just after 7 a.m. from the security guard at the building, on the 2900 block of North Sheridan, reporting that the women was threatening to jump, said Chicago Police News Affairs officer Laura Kubiak.

When officers arrived, they found the women had jumped, fallen through a canopy and hit the ground, fatally wounding herself, according to Kubiak.

Chicago Police are conducting a death investigation.
