Williams Sisters Fall Short Monday At Wimbledon

For the first time in five years we will not see either Venus or Serena Williams compete in the quarter finals at Wimbledon.  It is the 125th anniversary of the historic tournament and a historic day for the Williams sisters as they both fell short of getting a chance for the Rosewater Dish this year.

It was a case of the “Mondays” for the pair as they both got knocked out of the tournament Monday at All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.  Serena who was the defending champion and four time winner was first to go out of the two getting beat by France’s Marion Bartoli.

Venus was taken out by Tsvetana Pironkova of Bolgaria, Venus a five time winner will now make her early exit at Wimbledon.  Both sisters have been struggling with injuries over the last year and maybe they did not have enough time to get ready.  Some say these are the reasons for the early exit, but the girls should not to be counted out in making big moves torwards more Grand Slams in the near future.
