Blackhawks Lose In Tragic Overtime

Blackhawks loose a heartbreaking game Tuesday 2-1 in overtime to the No.1 Vancouver Canucks. It was a tough fight for Chicago getting the ending they were not hoping for. “It’s tough to lose that one, we had a lot of momentum going into OT,” Crawford said. “I don’t think anyone would have believed we’d climb back into a Game 7 — and it could have just as easily gone our way. It was a great battle by our team, other than that, I don’t know what to say.”

Blackhawks Can’t Hear Fat Lady

Before Thursday and Tuesday it did not look so good for the Blackhawks who were trailing the Canucks 3-0 in the first round playoff match up. Chicago was on their last leg but there is a whole new view on this series now at 3-2 and going back to Vancouver to play the sixth game on Sunday night. “After three games, you would have thought that we were in their heads,”Canuck’s Roberto Luongo said. “Now all of a sudden it’s 3-2 and people suggest the opposite.”

Blackhawks Get Three Points In Two Games

The Blackhawks have taken their last two games into overtime. They lost the first but won the second, giving them three points for their extended play. Chicago has two games left, both against their much hated rivals the Detroit Red Wings. Friday’s game being played in Motown and Sunday’s game being played at the Madhouse on Madison. Patrick Sharp graced the United Center with his presence coming back from an injury. Chicago has been waiting in anticipation for Sharp one of their leading scorers to get back on the ice.

Blackhawks One Point Away From Postseason

Blackhawks inch a little bit closer to the postseason winning in Detroit against rival Red Wings. Chicago has one last game on Sunday to determine if they will attempt to make another run for the cup this year once again going against Detroit. “It was an important game and you could sense it was a different type of approach going into the game,” Hawks coach Joel Quenneville said. “It just seems like the urgency was in the guys’ faces and the first shift exemplified that.”
