Chicago will have some time now to look at the last four minutes of Thursday nights game and figure out what went wrong for them as they are eliminated from the NBA playoffs loosing to the Miami Heat 83-80. Miami’s big three took over the fourth, coming back from a twelve point deficit to go on to win and now on to the NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks.
The Bulls began their series against the Miami Heat looking like the team we have seen time and time again this season, not so much after the last two games played against Miami. Derrick Rose and the Bulls are now trailing the Heat 2-1 in the Eastern Conference Finals after loosing Wednesday night in Chicago and again Sunday night in Miami.
Great game to be either a Chicago fan or a Miami hater as the Bulls go onto dominate the second half and control game one through tough defense and strong rebounding. Chicago’s great game play and support from the “Bench Mob” helped set the Bulls up, to beat up the Miami Heat 103-82. “I thought CJ came in, Ronnie came in and their ball-pressure, their energy and of course with Taj and Omer – that group got us going and the second half, everybody’s defense was a lot better.” Said Carlos Boozer.
The Bulls are heading back to Chicago in anticipation to play the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals after closing out their round two series with the Atlanta Hawks Thursday night 93-73. The Heat and Bulls will play game 1 Sunday night at the United Center on TNT at 7pm. “They’ve got two great players in D-Wade and LeBron,” Bulls forward Carlos Boozer said. “It should be a great series. We look forward to it. And it is going to be a tough series. We look forward to the challenge.”
Chicago will now head to Atlanta with a 3-2 lead coming off of the huge game five win 95-83 setling some of Chicago’s nerves. The Bulls stepped up on defense and made some adjustments leading them to their must win game setting them up only needing one more win to move on in the NBA Playoffs. “Tonight the game was close and we turned it up in the fourth quarter,” Luol Deng said. “Our defence was great.”
Chicago couldn’t seal the deal Sunday night, with the game all tied up with six minutes to play Atlanta went on a 16-4 run to get the series back to even before heading to Chicago. Derrick Rose struggled to get all of his shot to fall but still put up 34 points for Chicago. The Bulls were the victims of a couple bad calls and some unlucky bounces leading to a Hawk victory in Atlanta 10-88. “Obviously we wanted to come in and win, but now it’s tied at 2-2, makes it a best of three,” said Bull Carlos Boozer. “We go back home, make the corrections that we’ve got to make and we win Game 5, and move on. “I think it’ll be a game of will. The team that has the most will, wants it the most, usually wins Game 5 when it’s tied up at two.”
