Only Two From Chicago Going To MLB All Star Game

One from each side of town will grace Phoenix July 12th at Chase Field for the MLB All Star Game. Carlos Quentin will be there for the south side and Starlin Castro will represent the north side. This will be Quentin’s second appearance and Castro’s first, Castro will be the youngest player at 21 to be selected for the Cubs ever. There is a final vote going on until July 7th, each league has one spot open waiting to be filled. Paul Konerko is currently leading the final vote for the AL and is hoping to make his 5th appearance in the Midsummer Classic.

Both sides have given up talks with each other, and now the next step is the announcment of the lockout. Chicago looked a lot better than they did Monday night getting the series back to even 1-1 with the Bulls win 86-73 Wednesday night. Chicago took care of defending and coming away with rebounds holding Atlanta down sending the series to Atlanta tied up. Derrick Rose was also honored for his latest MVP accomplishment, being presented with the Maurice Podoloff trophy by NBA commish David Stern before the game. “Seeing Derrick get the award in front of the fans, we had to make sure we stayed focused,” Luol Deng said. “For him to be on it, and give us that big effort, says a lot about him at such a young age.
