State Rep Scares Gunman?

What’s in a name?

Friday night on the West side of Chicago, Illinois State Representative Edward Acevedo had a gun pointed at him.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, a van pulled up to Acevedo on the 2500 block of South Oakley Avenue and one of its passengers pulled out a gun.

Acevedo then “announced his office” and oddly enough, the van immediately sped away.

Apparently, Illinois State Representative is not the only office title Acevedo holds. He is also the Illinois House’s assistant majority leader ¬†and has been since 1997. Not to mention the fact that he has been a Chicago Police officer since 1995.

So far no one knows which office Acevedo announced, as police reports have released little to no information on the story and no arrests have been made.

What exactly did you tell them, Representative Acevedo?

Do share. Words are a lot cheaper than self defense classes and pepper spray. Until then, I’m going to refer to you as Neo from The Matrix.
