‘Possible jumper’ shuts down I-57

Both northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 57 were shut down late Wednesday night as police and fire crews rushed to a man who is threatening to jump into traffic, officials said.

The man was spotted by a beat car, at the 107th overpass, around 11:30 p.m., said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines.

Road were re-opened around 12:50 a.m. with no injuries, a Illinois State Police dispatcher said.
