Police Officer Shot In Englewood

A police officer was grazed by a bullet in Englewood Monday evening, according to Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford.

The officer was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in fair condition, according to Langford.

Another victim was on the scene, said Langford, but he did not immediately have information regarding the person’s condition.

CTA buses and trains were also affected in the area, said CTA spokeswomen Catherine Hosinski. The Green Line was not stopping at the 63/Ashland or Halsted stations, as well as the route 63 and 9 buses were rerouted in both directions.

The Chicago Police News Affairs Unit could confirm a police involved shooting, but didn’t readily have information about the incident.
