Man charged in motorcycle club double homicide

A man was charged in connection with early Sunday morning’s motorcycle club slaying on the 100 block of West 75th street that left two people dead and five in critical condition.

Charles Ervin, 27, of the 8200 block of South Wolcott, has been charged with two counts of first degree murder for the killings of Emmit Suddoth, 38, and Bryant Glass, 39, according to a police press release.

Ervin was also charged one count of unlawful use of a weapon by felon, and five counts of aggravated battery with a firearm, the release said.

First reports of the shootings were received at about  1:40 a.m. Sunday at the Hawks Motorcycle Club at 149 W. 75th Street. Police said the shooting possibly started from a dispute inside the club.

Ervin allegedly opened fire outside the club, immeditaly killing Glass. Suddoth died a short time later at Stroger Hospital. Five other people, including two women, were critically injured in the shooting.

Ervin is scheduled to appear in bond court on Tuesday.
