First Election Results In: A Tie!

Ten voters in the tiny village of Dixville Notch, New Hampshire, cast the first Election Day votes of the 2012 general elections at 12:01 a.m. ET, in keeping with a tradition that began in 1960.

The results are a first for Dixville Notch: a tie, with President Obama and Mitt Romney garnering five votes each.

The Dixville Notch 10 include 2 registered Republicans, 3 registered Democrats and 5 Independents. Historically, the results in Dixville Notch have not correlated to national or even state election patterns.
