Extra alarm blaze on North Side

A two-alarm fire broke out on the city’s North Side Saturday evening.

Firefighters were called to the 1800 block of North Honroe Street at about 6:45 p.m. for reports of a fire, and was quickly raised to a 2-11 alarm, according to radio communications.

The 2-11 was called for the house’s proximity to other homes and to ensure the fire didn’t spread, said Chicago Fire Department spokesman Kevin MacGregor.

Electrical wires were down in the alley and access to the home was limited, but there was no reports of injuries, said MacGregor.

The 2-11 was struck out at 7:40 p.m., said MacGregor.
