Chord Overstreet leaving Glee

This fall, not all charters will be re-attending William McKinley High School in season 3 of  “Glee.”

Chord Overstreet, who joined the  “Glee” cast last season as recurring guest star as a transfer student Sam Evans, will no longer be a regular to the series  for season three.

“Well its been a good yr too bad its over,” the actor, 22, tweeted Friday, seemingly alluding to his diminished role on the show. “Time for summer and starting fresh.”

The rep did not disclose the reason for the decision, but Overstreet might make his way back to the “Glee” gang as an occasional guest star, a source close to the show tells TV Line, which first reported the news.

As for the rest of the crew. People who will be attending full time consists of Darren Criss, who plays Warbler crooner Blaine, and Harry Shum Jr., who plays dancing machine Mike, were both upgraded to full-time series regulars this fall.

The news comes on the heels of a recent promise from creator Ryan Murphy that some of the show’s main characters would graduate by the end of season three.

Murphy did not want to have a show where the kids would be in high school for eight years.
