Bulls Wrap Series

The Bulls team we have seen all year showed up for game 5 Tuesday and clinched the first round series against the Pacers 116-89.

From start to finish the Bulls played their best game of the first round outscoring their opponent by 27 points.

Derrick Rose lead both teams with 25 points, shooting 44 percent from the field, and grabbing 7 rebounds.  As always Luol Deng was right behind Rose with 24 points and 7 assists.

Joakim Noah had another good game scoring 14, blocking 5 shots, and bringing down 8 boards.  Carlos Boozer still struggling only managed to score 2 points and sat for most of the game with foul trouble.

“It’s really good for us to end this series like this,” Luol Deng said. “We didn’t really want another close game. In the locker room, we know it’s not how you play, it’s whether you win the game. We have adjustments to make.”

Chicago handled the ball great they had 27 assists and shot for 48 percent.  The Bulls did an amazing job on defense, they forced 21 turnovers, and held the Pacers to 89 points who shot under 40 percent.  The Pacers big scorer was Danny Granger with 20 points and 6 rebounds.

“This is the first game of the series where we played on both ends,” guard Keith Bogans said. “That’s the way we wanted to play the whole series. To end it that way, we can carry it on to the next series.”

Bogans had a great game he scored 15 points shooting 5 for seven behind the three point line.

Chicago will wait to find out who their oppenet will be for Monday’s game which will start round two for the Bulls.  They will either face the Atlanta Hawks or the Orlando Magic.

“Not only do we get to rest, we get to watch them play,” guard Keith Bogans said about their time off, waiting to find out who they will take on in the second round. “Preparing that way helps.”

We will find out if it helped on Monday as the Bulls start their second round of the NBA playoffs.
