Bulls stay mean in green against Nets

New Jersey — The Nets have been hot as of late, they were on a 5 game win streak until the Bulls made an appearance Thursday night.  The Bulls had their plates full trying to hold onto their win streak of seven and with the victory over the Nets, make it eight.

Even though the Bulls held the lead for most of the game the Nets were always right there waiting to take back the lead.  “If you would have told me we would hold one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference defensively, we would have taken it.”  Nets coach Avery Johnson

Carlos Boozer sat out another game for the Bulls with a sprained ankle.  But Chicago still took care of business even with out one of their big men.  Chicago’s Omer Asik stepped up and helped playing 24 minutes, scoring 11 and grabbing 16 boards.

Even on the road Derrick Rose was still getting M-V-P chants which he deserved putting up 21 points.  Loul Deng added to the tally with his 19 points.  The Bulls didn’t have one of their best games shooting but with more strong defense they managed to finish the game with a 15-4 run to end it at 84-73.

Next on the schedule for the Bulls will be the Pacers in Indiana at 6:00 p.m. on Comcast.  Chicago was in first place until Boston won the other night, but with the win over New Jersey the Bulls take back first place and hope to extend it with a win over the Pacers tonight.
