Bulls Lose First Game

The Bulls lost the first game of the second round of the NBA playoffs Monday night 103-95.

Atlanta has not won a game in their last 15 Conferemce Semifinal games.

Atlanta started the game off scoring the first nine points setting them up with a lead that they would not give up until two minutes into the third quarter.  Chicago would hold onto the lead but not for long as the Hawks went on a 15-2 run between the third and the fourth quarter taking the lead to an unattainable come back for the Bulls.

Derrick Rose went scoreless in the first quarter but did start to find his rhythm scoring 24 points for Chicago, Luol Deng stepped up in his absence scoring 21.  Joakim Noah was one rebound from a double-double he scored 11 and grabbed 9 boards, Carlos Boozer who didn’t have a great first round looked a bit better scoring 14 and getting 8 rebounds through 40 minutes of play.

Joe Johnson had a phenomenal game leading his team with 34 points, he also made all of his three point shots g0ing 5-5 behind the perimeter.  Jamal Crawford came off Atlanta’s bench putting up 22 for his team.

“Atlanta’s playing at a very high level right now,” Chicago’s coach Tom Thibodeau said after their first game loss. “I thought they played great against Orlando. They have an edge about them, and we have to be ready for that.”

Tom Thibodeau the coach of the Bulls was awarded with the NBA’s Coach of the Year before the game leading the Bulls to the best record in the NBA for his first year with Chicago.  One of the many reasons to lead us to believe that the Bulls will look different the next time they play the Atlanta Hawks Wednesday night in Chicago at 7pm on TNT.
