Only Two From Chicago Going To MLB All Star Game

One from each side of town will grace Phoenix July 12th at Chase Field for the MLB All Star Game. Carlos Quentin will be there for the south side and Starlin Castro will represent the north side. This will be Quentin’s second appearance and Castro’s first, Castro will be the youngest player at 21 to be selected for the Cubs ever. There is a final vote going on until July 7th, each league has one spot open waiting to be filled. Paul Konerko is currently leading the final vote for the AL and is hoping to make his 5th appearance in the Midsummer Classic.

Count Down To NBA Lockout

When the start of July happens for all of us, the NBA owners will announce the start of their lockout against the Players Association. Both sides have given up talks with each other, and now the next step is the announcment of the lockout. Players will be informed that there will be no more communictaion between players and teams, practices and camps will be put on hold, and players will be responsible for their own health and benefits.

Williams Sisters Fall Short Monday At Wimbledon

Defending Wimbledon Champion Serena Williams and her five time winning sister Venus will not be competing in the fourth round at the All England Club as of Monday where they both were knocked out of play. Even though the book-makers had the sisters going deep and being front runners it was not enough for the injury riden pair as they will have to look forward to August and the US Open.

Bulls No. 1 Draft Need Is A No.2

With the NBA draft coming up on June 23rd there are a bunch of questions the Bulls and Chicago fans are trying to figure out. The Bulls have two picks in the first round and one in the second round. It seems most people are calling for a fierce shooting guard or Dwight Howard. We will find out what happens Thursday at the Prudential Center in Newark New Jersey.

Dallas Mavericks Win 2011 NBA Championship

“I still can’t believe it. We worked so hard and so long for it,” Nowitzki said, “This is unbelievable. Mavs nation deserves it. It’s been an amazing ride.” Just as much as Dallas deserves a championship Dirk Nowitzki deserves the NBA Finals MVP and a championship for him to remember. The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Heat in Miami Sunday night 105-95. Lebron James couldn’t be found in the second half and Dirk Nowitzki stepped it up in the final two quarters bringing home the Maverick’s first NBA championship.
