All-Star Nod To Peavy of White Sox

Jake Peavy will join three of his White Sox teammates at the All-Star Game on Tuesday Night in Kansas City. Peavy will get the start for the American League replacing Angles injured C.J. Wilson who is struggling with a blister on his pitching hand. Jake Peavy – who enters Tuesday 7-5/2.85 ERA/108K – will oppose former N.L. West counterpart Matt Cain of the San Francisco Giants.

Cain has had quite the season for himself (9-3/2.62ERA/118K) with a perfect game that included a record-tying 14 strikeouts.

Peavy is joining Chris Sale, Paul Konerko and Adam Dunn on the A.L. Team. The starter in the All-Star Game usually goes three innings as managers are typically disinclined to overwork starters in an exhibition game.
