A 2-11 alarm fire broke out in a laundromat on the city’s West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side late Monday night.

The Chicago Fire Department was called at about 10:30 p.m. to the Wash Tub laundromat in the 10900 Block of South Michigan, according to Chicago Fire Department spokesman Chief Joe Roccasalva.

The truss type roof collapsed a short time after the fire broke out, Roccasalva said.

According to fire officials on-scene, the laundromat was open at the time the fire started, but no one was inside the building.

No injuries were reported.
